Just returning from an insane game at Splat Brothers...(more)
Just returning from an insane game at Splat Brothers (Battle for Hamburger Hill) [a 8 hr big game]. Where our Team fought for the American Army in the classic battle against the NVC army for control of Hill 937. Game was based around of course the movie and historical event of that 10 day battle.
Our team played as a response team for the general. We didn't really received allot of the scenario's missions, but more patrol and take and hold of vital areas and back doors, as well as base assaults and Command Post Attack Missions. We did receive 2 missions personally and assisted the completion of 4 others.
The greatest part of this game was when our army had to take control of Spear Point Fort, which is located on the other side of the field, typically under ***** control. (you all will remember it as the building we held at the end of Hellstorm last year). The area was filled with NVC troops, sol and I took up opposite flanks and just kept pressing using cross fire to take them out left and right. After a 20 fight for the main road, the NVC army had lost morale and was in full retreat back to the opposite ridgeline. We took Spear Point and began our Hold Timer, we had to hold this area for 15 minutes. We decided not to stop at Spear Point for and to extend our parameter to provide cushion for the inevitable counter attack. Our forces continued to push up the ridge and fight with the disadvantage of fighting up the hill. Despite the *****'s new found entrenched position we managed to take out there main fortifications in a matter of mere moments and prevent them from organizing on the ridge. Once the Mission was complete, Sol and I pressed the Ridge and forced a full retreat of the NVC forces to there last lines of defense in front of there base. There our forces were supported by our army's PUG [Man Powered Tank], We continued to fight and press them back, but with all of us having fought so long and hard to get where we had, we were low on ammo and air and had no hope of reinforcements reaching us in time. To top it all the ***** was respawing fresh troops right in front of us constantly, attrition was bound to catch up with us and we lost our momentum and had to fall back or loose most of our forces.
This was truly a remarkable scenario event!!! All players really seemed to have a great time, and im sure all had war stories such as that one. Wish more of you could have made it [participants were: Nick Branham, Solomon Rohrbaugh and Recruit Derek Reel (his first paintball game ever)]
The best part of the whole day was receiving our team's first(less)
